Unfortunately the new restaurant is disappointing, the tapas was luke warm and tasteless, its a shame they've given over so much space to it. My advice would be stick to the sausage rolls sold at the bar delicious!

The roast meats were divine and the vegetables were delicious as well. The staff was welcoming and made our 9-year-old son happy with his rhubarb crumble and ice cream dessert. We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem in Balham.

Really down to earth, welcoming and a great laugh. He’s kept up the high standards in service and that’s helped by an amazing team around him. Keep up the good work guys!!

It was a disaster - they had booked too many parties for the night and were overwhelmed with orders. We were told our food would be ready at 7:30pm, but we didn't get our starters until 8:30pm, and our desserts were still coming out at 11pm. There was only one waitress serving our party of 40+ people, and she did her best but we ended up having to clear the tables ourselves. The food was terrible - the turkey was dry, the parsnips were raw, and the burger was undercooked. Overall, very disappointing! We would not come back.

The value for money and location were both rated a 6 out of 10, while the service was rated an 8 out of 10. The total cost for two roast dinners and one large glass of red wine was £48. The lighting was slightly too dark, but there was plenty of space for walk-ins. A special shout out was given to the friendly waiter who provided attentive and friendly service.

Whatever you are gonna get from food is gonna be great and definitely give a try with the rosemary fries!

I was greeted by a man who said “its not 4 o’clock yet” it was 4.10, the place was a mess. We ordered a drink and was told there was no lemonade for my vodka, so I had to order something else. When I bought a 2nd drink I was told there was no change and the barman got change from another customer. Then the new manager appeared with a vodka and lemonade as apparently the barman didn’t know where it was. I made a complaint and the manager said he was new. I really hope they get this place back to the way it was. Both my grandfather and father where members for years back in the 50’s and 60’s and as a child I went there to watch the bowls being played on the green. This club is a special place for us as a family and it is such a shame what has happened to it

I visited on a Sat... read more It's wonderful to see these historical members-only clubs opening their doors to the public while still maintaining the ambiance of the past. I visited on a Saturday night, just a few days before the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Former Balham Bowls Club building now turned in to a unique and highly characterful pub in time capsule fashion with all the old bowls club team photos stretchi... read more Former Balham Bowls Club building now turned in to a unique and highly characterful pub in time capsule fashion with all the old bowls club team photos stretching back as far as the 1950s or possibly even 1930s all still in place as though it was still currently a bowls club. Sadly the former bowling green itself is now underneath some new freehold houses and flats that were built there by the property developer who sold the club building to the characterful pubs company that now runs it.
