Barren co is a rustic restaurant, it is called barn co', because it is an old scheune. barren co is great for children who have their own menu. we started with tapas and pizza, including oysters with finger kalkens that were delicious, theoyster. the tanga des ozeans and baked cheese with brot. for the main course we had whole baked barramundi, and lamb-backstrap with cousin-cous. we shared our dishes and had a delicious family dinner. barn co is surrounded by vines.
We had dinner here in the March 2022 for the first time and are so glad we made it! we have booked for the second session on Sunday, as the first session was full. that was perhaps a blessing in trim, as the restaurant was not too busy. we were very happy with the menu and tried many of the tapas, a pizza and a few nets. all eating was great, like the atmosphere and the service. we will definitely come back. thanks to all the employees who made our first post covid' family so pleasant.
We have eaten here since the opening and be honest that eating was sometimes and not so different, but we had lunch here last week and I have to say the best lunch in the old. they have a great cook atm! being able to make calls through a booking is annoying, but unlike that can not wait to get back. the finger crosses, they can hold on to the cook!
We were all so excited to come back to one of our fave spots and we were young for a tasty bite. barren co had a makeover while we were all locked and it looks great. but hey, it's them. Eat and drink for which we are here, right? and there the fireworks really begin with we have thrown off their turn on an old classic with a round of Barn-Martinis. with 7 secret ingredients, it is a heavenly combination that every lover of cocktails appreciate. a bottle quealy pinot noir the feed me option and we were on the races. a beautiful combo of stockplates continued to come at the table. with a strong Spanish/sth american influence on all dishes, we started with a house brotstick served with a local olive oil with paprika salt and a bowl of heated marinated olives; we were a mixed edible group with three vegans, one of which is also a coeliac, so we all enjoyed a handful of teller, the crispy artichokes hearten; arancini; filled red paprika mixed paprika note to coeliacs- their deep frit is used exclusively for gluten-free foods the non-Coeliac vegan and others also shared the vegan mushroon pizza (with amazing milk free cheese and a plate of mushroom walnut pate. the non-diateries also over a king fish ceviche and another speciality of the day, a capparcio cut. rave reviews. we finished the meal with 3 vegan sorbets, which were again error-free. it is rare that I ask after the name of a cook, but kudos must go to the new child on the block zac hagger, which, in only 28 years, is intended for great things. but this is a team effort! everyone on the floor is a profi. they are young and enjoy themselves obviously and bring a really good feeling for the whole experience. on the half island there are now so many great dining rooms, and we have bookings for foxey’s hangout, pt leo estate, jackalope and minutes ten by tractor. I am sure they will be incredible without doubt, but the benchmark was set with our afternoon in barn co. faultless! 10 out of 10 over the board and a last thought- if they are vegan, they just won't eat better!
Excellent venue. We arrived as a group of 8 on a winery tour. We were there for lunch and wine tasting. The dining area was quite open but not too noisy like some other places. Food was excellent. We had the lamb rack and others...had the grilled barramundi. Everything was cooked to perfection and staff were terrific. A big tick
