Was Anonym at Bayleaf a mag?
Called in en route back to Slieve Russell hotel after doing the Stairway to heaven hike. We were exhausted and hungry after the long hike but had dinner booked in the hotel. Lovely outdoor seating area across the road. Very tasty club sandwich and Rocky road treat served by really friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to make our visit an excellent one! Highly recommend! What Anonym dislikes about Bayleaf:
Eating was fine. Very strong smell of fried fish when entering. It wasn't very welcome. It was like our order was too small. Overall very disappointed. Wouldn't go back. View all feedback.
My husband and I visit the Bayleaf approx twice a month. It is table service and the ladies are very efficient. You get good traditional Irish food. They have a regular clientele. Our recommendation is that the chips are a bit less greasy That is personal taste of course.
I popped in for a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my meal and the service from my waitress Bernadette was excellent.
I would not suggest this café to other visitors in Ballyconnel. I found the staff to be unfriendly when I inquired about their lack of card payment options. Furthermore, the food was overly greasy and I felt like I could have prepared a better meal at home. The coffee was also not up to par. Overall, it was not a pleasant dining experience.
Have eaten breakfast here on a couple of occasions and it was mostly quite good, the last time however not so good. Nicely situated along the canal. When it comes to payment it is cash only which is quite inconvenient. Don’t get much chat from the staff but they seem like nice people.
A lovely homey little spot in Ballyconnell town. Plenty of options for all dietary needs. It was like a blast from the past coming in here, but in the best way. It reminded me of childhood. Such a cosy little restaurant.
