If you speed past in a large pickup truck with rugged tires, or even in a compact hatchback, it’s easy to miss this intriguing architectural phenomenon. Next time, take a moment to slow down and appreciate it. This is the nerve center, the vibrant heart of the operation, where all the magic happens. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the corporate headquarters of Stewart's Shops. True to their philosophy, the building is compact, situated on land that must be significantly less expensive than similar commercial properties in the area, and easily accessible from multiple directions. Are there any extravagant features? Over-the-top signage? Showy architecture? Not at all. If all publicly traded companies in the United States were run like Stewart's by the Dake family, I believe shareholders would be much better off. Of course, that would likely mean a significant reduction in private jets in the skies, so there is a downside, I suppose.
