What Jack Philpott doesn't like about Jalan Jalan:
I placed an ordered over the phone mading the order very clear I repeating it three times, she repeated it back, but when I received the food it wasn't what I ordered, nothing matched my order at all plus everything they prepared also contained avocado which I'm allergic too, I called back to explain this only to have her laugh questioning my allergy to avocado. Very frustrating the food ended up in the bin. Service:... View all feedback.
We visited the restaurant on New Year's Eve and one person in our group was initially unhappy with our seating arrangements. However, once we were seated at the back, we had no issues and enjoyed our meals. We will definitely return, as they offer a variety of gluten-free options on the menu.
Yummy food! Friendly staff. Enjoyed the atmosphere. That Duck dish is my favourite and I keep going back for more. I’d love to see authentic Asian desserts on the menu rather than the typical desserts you see everywhere else.
Got Japanese Yakitori Skewers for starters it was delicious. Would order that again 100%. For mains I go Korean Fried Rice without prawns. It lacked a bit of flavour. I wish there was bit more rice than vegtables (and little bit more kimchi as it was one of the named ingredients . The chicken was plain. Sticky toffee pudding was terrible. Toffee top wasn't perfectly metled, felt like blob of sugar. They don't have spirits in the restaurant so you need go downstairs for a drink (while ur having ur meal. I would come back to try other things as the menu has a lot of options.
I've been here a few of times and every single time the food has been absolutely delicious, and the waiters are all very kind : the first two times I ordered the Korean fried rice and I really recommend it for those who like a bit of spice but not too much. This time I ordered the Japanese Gyoza with chicken, they were very juicy and really tasty. Since the Gyozas were just a starter I also got the miso soup, quite enjoyable. My family ordered vegetarian spring rolls, the Japanese dancing rice and a salad. We all cleared our plates so I think that says enough.
The food here is absolutely amazing, so so tasty. Will be back as soon as we can. Well done Jalan Jalan!
