Forgot to order my tamales for Christmas this year, then I remembered this place. Went there 3 days before and picked up some cheese jalapeños ones and some chicken ones . Tamales were pretty good and the price was reasonable.. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ramirez Meat Market:
This used to be my favorite place to buy tamales but recently every time I stop by and buy some they have so much masa and very little meat. I know we are dealing with inflation, but come on. I won't be stopping by anytime soon. View all feedback.
I stopped by on a Sunday at 4:50 PM, only to find that they were closed, so they’re not open until 6. However, I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here since I was a kid. Their fresh tortillas are fantastic; I used to wait and enjoy them with cheese right in the store. They also have the best longaniza—every time my family visits from Arizona, they have to take some back with them. The tamales are delicious, far better than any I’ve had elsewhere, and I’m just too lazy to make them myself. Just be sure to arrive early, as they sell out quickly!
I really enjoy this place, but unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. They have good tortillas, delicious chicken tamales, and fast customer service. However, they often run out of tamales, their meat prices are quite high, and their weighing practices seem questionable. They obscure the scale numbers and frequently overcharge customers. I initially thought it was a one-off incident, but when I returned, they had placed a plastic bag in front of the scale. If they need to raise prices, they should just do so openly instead of overcharging their customers. Very disappointing.
I went there specifically for the tamales that everyone talks about. I ordered the chicken tamales with red sauce. Unfortunately, there was a lot of masa and very little chicken.

Best tamales you can buy. I've been coming here for the past 4 years. Tamales are thick and nicely filled with meat or cheese/jalapeños. Nice balance of masa and filling. Tamales available daily!
