beautiful caffe with friendly staff in the most beautiful hidden location behind a the last bookshop. I had the kartoffel farl that was up there, as one of the most tasty meal I had!, all the different aromes worked so well together in a tasty taste explosion! the pane of cake I got for my 5 years old was a bit too expensive at 4,80 €, but it seems that this is the norm everywhere? What User doesn't like about The Cake Cafe:
The cakes are delicious and the cafe itself is a nice gem just behind the book shop. However the lines to be seated are a little confusing and the service was quite slow for example we got our cakes but it took up to 10+ minutes for us to get our beverages which was a little inconvenient. I've been meaning to visit this place for over a year and I can recommend the cakes which are 4.5 each and are a great size View all feedback.
Excellent food. The mackerel salad is great and anything seasonal is always worth checking out. I absolutely recommend the meat and cheese board with the red wine, especially on a sunny day. It's a great spot to sit outside, however it can still be a bit cold.
I have been a fan of this restaurant for years and I am happy to see that it is still thriving, although I am a little disappointed that it is no longer a hidden gem. My only complaint is that they have not updated their menu in years. While they do have specials, I can only get excited about the homemade beans so many times. Additionally, the constant opening of the door without insulation takes away from the cozy atmosphere that the restaurant's decor suggests.
As a non-coffee drinker, I inquired about the richness of the 'Extra rich' hot chocolate, and the waitress seemed unsure. That was enough for me to give it a try. Our tea and hot chocolate arrived in delicate china teacups, served with a traditional teapot. The Cake Cafe has a vintage vibe where patrons can feel comfortable in all kinds of attire, whether it's tweed or a vintage dress. It's a cozy spot to relax, read the newspaper, and feel right at home. I highly recommend it.
Lovely quirky little place off Pleasant Street.<br/ <br/ Serving good coffee and really nice cake. I couldn't choose what I wanted so I went with the tasting plate.<br/ <br/ It's small but even if there's lots of people in here you don't feel overwhelmed.
We stopped by this restaurant for a cup of coffee on a weekday morning. It wasn't crowded, so finding a table was easy. The coffee was delicious and served in charming teacups, each one unique. I didn't have a chance to try the food, but the cakes looked amazing. The restaurant is conveniently located and has a pleasant atmosphere.
