beautiful caffe with friendly staff in the most beautiful hidden location behind a the last bookshop. I had the kartoffel farl that was up there, as one of the most tasty meal I had!, all the different aromes worked so well together in a tasty taste explosion! the pane of cake I got for my 5 years old was a bit too expensive at 4,80 €, but it seems that this is the norm everywhere? What User doesn't like about The Cake Cafe:
The cakes are delicious and the cafe itself is a nice gem just behind the book shop. However the lines to be seated are a little confusing and the service was quite slow for example we got our cakes but it took up to 10+ minutes for us to get our beverages which was a little inconvenient. I've been meaning to visit this place for over a year and I can recommend the cakes which are 4.5 each and are a great size View all feedback.
I looked these guys up online and after seeing their promising vegan menu I decided this would be a great place to go for lunch. Unfortunately it seems they have a new menu without the vegan section that has the French toast etc. The staff were very kind and said they could make me a dish but I decided not to stay, as I had my heart set on the v French toast which was no longer on the menu.
Small place that smells heavenly upon entering. Friendly service and has a few vegan options (I got the vegan friendly French toast). Different vegan desserts available every day, just ask for what’s available as the staff are knowledgeable. Menu has a vegan friendly section for simplicity. Fucked behind a bookshop with a nice selection at outside seats, this place is perfect for summer brunch. there are some vegan options on the menu, including a beautiful homemade beans on toast. just letting them in the usually only have a vegan cake.
Really love space, feel like you’re out of the city. Has the vegan French toast with candied nuts and stewed rhubarb. There was also a veggy burger that could be made vegan. Beautifully decorated and great flavours.
Cake Café has been around for many years, even back when I was a vegetarian. However, now that I am vegan, there are very limited options for me on their menu, except for beans on toast. While their beans on toast are tasty, it can get a bit monotonous. The café is a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on a sunny day, but unfortunately, sunny days are few and far between in Ireland! The indoor seating is limited and I feel that the overall concept of the café is a bit overhyped, especially since the menu hasn't changed much over the years. I really hope they will update their menu soon to include more vegan options, such as a main dish and perhaps a vegan cake or two. Until then, I won't be returning.
