Smitten - Bakersfield
Smitten
Description
Smitten shines with its atmospheric charm, friendly staff, and a menu offering a good variety of cocktails and vegetarian options. While many patrons appreciate the fresh flavors and quality of the dishes, some report inconsistency, particularly with execution—dishes like Moroccan eggs have been sent back for undercooking. Despite a pleasant dining environment, a few customers find the vibe somewhat lacking. Desserts receive praise for their decadence. Coffee drinks are a hit, making Smitten a viable spot for casual brunching or coffee breaks, though expectations for service and food quality may vary. Overall, a place worth exploring.

We had a small baby shower on the patio. They were fantastic about letting us put up small decor and even put the cake in the fridge for us. The food is 10/10, a tad pricey but their small menu of appetizers and dinner allows for great quality. Try the Mediterranean flat bread and cheese board. I had the Ribeye for dinner. Peppercorn sauce was ????.
More than a good coffee and breakfast place. cool low key dinner atmosphere with live music too. It never had a bad thing. I wish they drank coffee, but no deal breaker really.
Good place to eat. I enjoyed being here.My order was avocado sandwich and a latte.
Went with a group of 3. Line was average for brunch and many options were what you'd expect for a modern brunch spot price-wise. Environment was very nice and had a bar. Expect to spend roughly $20+ per person. I personally ordered the breakfast bagel $6)and matcha latte. Decent bites but went more for the experience.
The food and service was average. The hummus plate was great. My flat iron steak was slightly overcooked and had an oily film. It has an undesirable mouth feel. My wife's ribeye was average. The kids burgers where okay. For the price we paid I wasexpecting a better product. Service was a bit slow even though there was not a lot of customers. The staff was very friendly.
