Jin Sushi (downtown) - Bakersfield

I wanted to share my overall joy with the culinary experience at your sushi restaurant, while also pointing out a couple of significant issues that need your attention. First and foremost, the food is absolutely incredible. A highlight for me was the roll wrapped in foil and served on fire - it's fantastic, and the flavors are truly exquisite. Each bite showcases the skill and passion of your chefs. That said, I feel compelled to bring up two important concerns: 1. **Water Quality:** The drinking water and iced tea have a very strong, chemical taste. This off-putting flavor detracts from what would otherwise be an outstanding dining experience. Fresh, clean-tasting water is a basic expectation that needs to be met. 2. **Server Attire:** During my last visit, one of the servers was wearing tightly-fitting gray leggings that were somewhat see-through. I understand that your dress code calls for all-black attire, and this deviation was noticeable and uncomfortable for customers. It's crucial for all staff to adhere to a professional dress code that reflects the restaurant’s standards and ensures a comfortable atmosphere for diners. I hope these issues can be resolved quickly. I genuinely enjoy your restaurant and would be happy to update my review to reflect a better experience once these concerns are addressed. Horrible service. My family and I come here from time to time and we enjoy the food but the service is hit or miss. However this time was the worst service we ever received. My mom ordered what she always gets, which is a veggie roll deep fried approximately $12ish.and the chef refused. She wanted her to get the vegetable tempura roll which is $17 instead. I don't know if it was either laziness from the chef in not wanting to do deep friend or if she wanted to get more money out of us. Regardless, the hostess was not much help and had no sense of service in her. We're paying customers and they acted as if we were getting the food for free. And No friendly face from the server. If you want decent sushi but horrible service, come here.

Atmosphere was loud but food was amazing. Sashimi pieces were huge and fresh.

I really appreciate that this sushi restaurant is located downtown. I traveled from Texas and took my parents here. The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh, and the service was excellent! I highly recommend it!

Everything was good. I ordered the tempura lunch set and the special roll. The lunch set includes sushi, tempura, soup, dumplings, and salad. It’s very rich. Special roll is salmon and tuna fish roll. It is very spicy with green chili on it. If you don’t like spicy food, be careful.
