The Bowling Club restaurant has just introduced a policy of charging $12.50 for meals on Monday and Tuesday nights. The menu is more restricted, they say, but it is still pretty extensive - easy to find something you would like. Access to the very good salad/veg bar still included. Food quality not bad for the sort of place that it is.At this price it is very good value. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Krakkerjack Bistro:
This is the restaurant at the Bairnsdale Bowls Club, a large well appointed gaming machine venue. We have been their a number of times, and it has never been very busy. Food quite expensive for this category. Quality OK, but nothing special. They do have a serve yourself salad and veg bar, which is very good. View all feedback.
The Sunday roasts at this restaurant used to be excellent. Unfortunately, they no longer offer a salad and vegetable bar, which is disappointing. The portion sizes are smaller now, but perfect for a lunch portion. We have tried the roasts on other days besides Sunday and noticed they were reheated. The price for roasts on Sundays is $20. The staff is friendly and skilled.
We stopped coming to this restaurant a couple of years ago because of the poor quality of food. However, we heard they had a new chef and better quality now. The lunch menu items were reasonably priced but on the small side. Our table ordered calamari, which was delicious, and flathead tails, which were also good. I decided to try the roast of the day, but it was a disappointment. The meat was tough and seemed to be pre-cooked, the vegetables were mushy, and the creamy potato was undercooked. Additionally, a large dollop of horseradish sauce was poured over the meat, which I did not care for and it should have been served on the side. The service was good, and the wine selection and prices were okay, but overall, it did not seem like much of an improvement. Many people in our area left a lot of their food on their plates.
After being regular customers pre refit, we were keen to return again afterits completion. What a let down!! Really weak, reduced menu and a very cold, up yours type reaction from the servery staff when we asked for something not on that p*ssy menu. needless to say, we walked out and wont return. Dreadful service.
Ever since the club underwent renovations, the portion sizes of the meals have decreased. We gave them a few chances but were ultimately disappointed. The Bairnsdale Sporting Club offers much better value for money with larger meal portions. Two small slices of meat for a roast or a half-size parma just isn't enough. Relying on the salad and veggie bar alone is not enough to keep customers satisfied at the bowling club.
Great meals reasonably priced Sunday roast is great. And they have nice deserts as well. Lots of parking and disabled access
