Located on Route 36 in Hagi, Nameyo-san's "The Dining Hall" is a great value with ramen for just 450 yen a bowl! The menu is extensive and there are plenty of set options to choose from. Pictured is the "Shoyu Ramen and Half Fried Rice Set." View all feedback.

I had some business in the Hagi direction, so I stopped by around 12:30. Since soy sauce and salt ramen were both 450 yen according to my research, I thought about getting the ramen alone for 450 yen, but I hesitated when looking at the ramen set menu. Both the mini katsudon set and the half fried rice set were 900 yen. Considering the cost performance, I was originally thinking of getting the mini katsudon, but then I thought that maybe the classic choice would be the half fried rice, so I decided to order the salt ramen + half fried rice set for 900 yen including tax. The noodles in the ramen were thin and slightly soft, which wasn't my preference, but the taste was delicious. I didn't feel like it was a small portion just because it was 450 yen; in fact, I thought the portion was more generous than usual. The half fried rice was indeed half, and I found the flavor to be a bit bland. I looked for salt on the table seasoning, but it wasn't there. It lacked the crispy texture. Hmm, the ramen for 450 yen was wonderful, but the half fried rice set for 900 yen felt a bit expensive. I wonder if I would have felt a better deal if I had chosen the mini katsudon set for 900 yen. I don't know about the portion or flavor of the mini katsudon though.
- Shiraoi-cho, Restaurant "Nadai" - I got off at Shiraoi to go to Higashi-Muroran. When I approached Oginno on Route 36, I saw three postal motorcycles lined up in front of the restaurant and passed by. I had been driving for a while but couldn't ignore my curiosity, so I decided to make a U-turn. I was hungry since I had only had breakfast. The name of the restaurant is called "Nadai." There was also a postal car parked on the left side of the store. As expected, the raised tatami platform inside the store was occupied by the staff, and it seemed like the late lunch had ended. As it is not a ramen shop but a dining place, they have a variety of dishes. I ordered the Gomoku Miso Ramen for 800 yen and, quite unusually, added a half serving of fried rice. I usually don't combine carbohydrates with carbohydrates. But I am in the middle of a journey now. The Gomoku Miso had a flavorful broth with the taste of various ingredients blending in, which was delicious. The broth was not too strong, but just right by the time I finished it. The fried rice was more on the Japanese side rather than the Chinese side, more like "grilled" than "stir-fried." However, it was still delicious. I think that regardless of which menu you choose to eat here, it is a place where you can find the food delicious.
