I stopped by CaveMan's BAR-B-QUE today to try their brisket. As someone from the U.S., it's always a treat to see American-style BBQ done with a French twist. The restaurant is conveniently located right across from the Kopster Hotel. While the price was on the higher side—about €85 for two brisket plates and a Caesar salad. it’s understandable given it’s Paris, and the setting is nice. Overall, the food was delicious, and I had a great chat with the owner. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving some quality BBQ in the city. The most ridiculous value for money I've ever seen and God only knows how many restaurants I've had. Too overpriced for hilarious quantities. Avoid unless you like throwing money down the drain. By the way, the young waiter with mid-length hair (a little curly) if you read this message know that we never forced you to come to work, learn to respect your customers who are no longer ripped off by the restaurant in which you work, smile and make an effort in terms of customer relations. Definitely avoid! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Too expensive. Quality mediocre. Minimal quantity. The dish holds less than a starter Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
I just want to start off by saying I’m from Houston, Tx and just recently moved to France. This is not a place for anyone looking for “fine French cuisine” or French food in general, which is fine by me because that’s not what I wanted for my birthday dinner. I’ve eaten at several bbq spots from chain restaurants like Rudy’s to no frills, strictly bbq like Pinkerton’s and even Blood Bro’s with their exotic sides in Texas so this is right up my alley. I chose this spot based on one thing, the pink smoke ring. You can easily oven bake a brisket and add some wood chips to finish off the smoke smell/ taste but you can’t fake the smoke ring. For a country that doesn’t put salt and pepper on a steak but serves it with pepper sauce I’m confused about the comments on flavor. We got the 3 person platter with the brisket, rib, half chicken and the sausage. The smoke flavor was awesome and could eat each without the bbq sauce which was also good. The sausage was spicy and the meat wasn’t overworked which makes it grainy but broke up like ground beef. Sure you can complain about the price, but feel free to look up prices in the restaurant’s I mentioned and add shipping for both the beef and wood. Neither are local to France and black angus is not just a name but a grade in beef quality. The only issue I had was the lemonade was a bit too sour but if you get some water it just means more of it. So not a big deal. For anyone wanting to try Texas style bbq this is a great place to but as stated a bit pricy for a reason. You get what you pay for and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend and will be back next trip to Paris. Price per person: €30–40 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
