Bar-Restaurante El Pasaje is situated just off Paseo de la Constitucion which can be very busy at meal times. El Pasaje is quieter but excellent. While you can overdose on pork in Spain, it was really good here.
Well looked after by the staff for a late lunch, v good tapas with our aperitif. But the pil pil was splendid. Juicy fat prawns in a sea of garlicky oil. Loads of bread and a bottle of barbadillo. Heaven. Don't be put off by the back street location or local pub vibe. The food and the service is super. Perhaps slightly dearer the average, but it's worth it.
We asked a local resident to recommend a spot for lunch in Baeza, and he pointed us to this restaurant. We were a little skeptical at first because there weren 't many people there, but it filled up as we had our lunch. The menu cost 11€, which isn 't the cheapest, but the variety and quality were worth it, definitely. Our starters included stuffed artichokes (delicious), a good mixed salad, andrajos (kind of like meatballs but made of dough and seafood). Our vegetarian friend loved her revuelto de espinacas (scrambled eggs with spinach) because the spinach was so plentiful and fresh. Main dishes included cod with potatoes (a little strong-tasting but quite good if that doesn 't bother you) and grilled fish, plus tasty breaded pork fillets. Desserts were good, as well, and included home made selections, and the person who chose to have fruit was given 3 large tangerines. The service was good (they were happy to eliminate ingredients our vegetarian friend couldn 't eat) and we really enjoyed the lunch!
Homemade and spectacular food. ratio very good quality. great rations. and phenomenal treatment. I'll be right back.
