Even though it is not even a vegetarian restaurant, but Cendana has quite a few vegan-friendly Indonesian dishes like 'Gado-gado ' (indonesian mix salad with peanut sauce), Balinese vegetable curry, 'Opor Tahu ' (Braised tofu in coconut milk)to name a few. My absolute favorite is the veganized version of their 'Nasi Gurih, which is a savory rice that comes with fried tofu, sweet spicy tempe orek, vegetables curry, and spicy potato crisp. Love it! so worth the trip! Then finish it off with Black Rice Pudding 'Bubur Injin ' ' with Coconut Ice Cream. What I truly love about Cendana is how accommodating they are. They can whip up a vegan dish or veganize some dishes at your request (when possible of course) . The key is to ask and inform the staff that you are vegan and they’ll gladly accommodate you.

However, by following the map on HappyCow, we were able to find the restaurant situated right next to the road, easily visible. We tried the vegan gado gado and found it to be good, although not the best we've ever had. The highlight was the delicious satay sauce. The restaurant offers a variety of vegan Indonesian dishes at affordable prices and has a welcoming atmosphere.

I ordered a coffee and it was brought out with dairy milk in it which I’ve never had happen before. I asked if I could have it black with no milk and they made it seem like it was a big ordeal.
