What a neat little cafe! When you walk in, you feel like your walking 70 years into the past. From the front end of a '56 Chevy (I think) hanging on the wall, to the shiny, red vinyl booth seats, reminded me of the old cafés of Norman Rockwell paintings. Our waitress was probably old enough to be my grandma (and I 'm well into the middle ages) but she was sharp as a tack, and had a great sense of humor. When my food came, I was impressed with the elegant simplicity. The bun was homemade and perfect. Not so soft, that it mashed back into dough when you picked it up, nor so firm that you thought you were eating a kaiser roll. And the sandwich was assembled with care with the lettuce and mayo spread evenly around instead of a big lump off to one side like the cheap joints do. Lastly, the price. I was comfortably filled for about $10. Not an easy feat these days!So next time I go back to Badger, I hope it 's over lunch time, because I want to eat here again!
Good experience and food, I like the idea of the cart on the wall.
I was so happy to see we could order good and sit down to eat at this cute little store. We stopped for gas, what a nice surprise to find a restaurant.
