If you’re after a truly unforgettable dining experience in Baden-Baden, Restaurant Nigrum delivers perfection from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm staff made us feel welcomed and with detailed explanations of each dish, the ingredients, and even the preparation techniques, we’ve been enlightened about their passion which clearly shines through in every interaction. We chose the 5-course menu, and to our delight the kitchen sent out plenty of extra surprises alongside it — thoughtful culinary gestures that elevated the entire evening. Each course was a masterpiece of flavour, creativity, and presentation, showcasing modern fine-dining at its best and reflecting the restaurant’s innovative cuisine style. The atmosphere in the chic, elegantly designed dining room, set in stylish Gold tones with art and design elements was the perfect complement to the food. It felt special yet relaxed, striking that rare balance between casual and haute cuisine, making this far more than just dinner, but a genuine culinary journey. In short: 10/10. Fantastic food, exceptional service, engaging explanations, and a memorable overall experience. We’ll definitely be back!
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Nigrum in Baden-Baden, Germany. A very successful Michelin-listed restaurant offering a refined fusion of Asian, German, and French influences. Every dish we had was beautifully executed and genuinely delicious. The starter combining salmon with a beef jus stood out for its depth and originality, especially the interplay of flavors with wasabi. The sea bass paired with a kimchi mousse was also particularly interesting and well balanced. We then enjoyed sweetbreads cooked to perfection, served with a sauce that had a well-judged acidity, followed by beef cooked at low temperature with flawless precision and excellent accompaniments. The dessert, combining several flavors and textures, was equally enjoyable and well thought out. The atmosphere is quite dark and distinctive, somewhere between gothic and religious-inspired design, with a beautifully curated interior and a semi-open kitchen at the back of the dining room. Service was very fast, friendly, and efficient throughout the meal. A highly recommendable restaurant for those looking for creative, well-executed cuisine in a unique setting.
At Nigrum in Baden-Baden, everything was truly exceptional. The menu was perfectly composed – each course harmoniously balanced, creatively presented, and precisely executed in flavor. The attentive yet unobtrusive service was particularly impressive, making the evening thoroughly enjoyable. A restaurant that beautifully combines sophistication with warmth. Highly recommended!
First-class fine dining!! Atmospheric, elegant ambiance in black with colorful accents in the vaulted ceiling of the castle 's former stables. Relatively few seats, resulting in generous space and a tranquil atmosphere. Excellent, imaginative food. (There is currently a 7-course menu. A 3-course menu costs €120.00, with each additional course adding €10.00. You choose the number and type of courses according to your taste and appetite. Greetings from the kitchen, bread, and pre-dessert are included. Very friendly and attentive service. A truly relaxing evening that 's well worth the price. Reservations are required. A quick tip: The restaurant is located at the top of the Schlossberg, a steep climb from the city center. It 's best to take a taxi. (However, there are plenty of parking spaces.
