they can only go to the restaurant when the dog carries a maize basket. So we went free, we wouldn't be served. the dog is a small Australian shepard with 28 kg and mega love as well as well trained. View all feedback.
This restaurant was wonderful! I was surprised to find it open on Christmas Day (25 Dec), and we were able to call at 11am to make reservations for the...
The museum was closed for the day, US Xmas eve. Knowing this, we went there specifically for the restaurant. The restaurant lived up to it's reputation. The food was local, excellent, prepared well and quickly. Service was fast, courteous and friendly
We came here in Christmas for lunch with people! The service was amazing despite the large group size, multiple personal requests and small children. (Have to thank Ms. Woodward for that I can't recall her first name but she had...a team of servers helping her). The food was excellent. I shared the beef dish but also tried the pork. Both were excellent and perfect portion sizes. The fried potatoes (like a hashbrown but better) perfectly accompanied the meals. Ms. Woodward also recommended the wine based on a few of my comments and it was just what I wanted and perfectly complimented the meal. The place itself seems like an old farmhouse located in a small town. The town and restaurant were charming. Other than our group, everyone else seemed to be local. I would it might have been a little overwhelming when our large loud Irish family showed up and ate and drank for two hours. But the staff and customers couldn't have been more gracious! I highly recommend for some amazing food and local charm.
Went there for lunch and loved it! Varied menu with food to suit everyone in our group, even the non meat eaters with some regional dishes. Locally produced beer went down really well with our meal. Great service and huge portions at a good value.
One of the rare places which have great food, friendly service in a fantastic setting since many many years. The ambiance of a years old restaurant building at the entrance of this great museum, a beergarten as relaxing and quite as they come, friendly...staff, clean and well maintained facilities . . . whatever I do I can not find anything about the place I would not like . . . beside leaving after a good meal obviously. Whoever comes to Bad Windsheim and does NOT try this gem . . .sorry for you mate, big mistake. Come in November December and book the goose in advance, you will never forget the experience Come October April, make sure you do have a fried Franconian carp Come May September, sit under the trees and have a nice steak with salad With it . . . Franken Silvaner or home brewed beer Enjoy
