Hexenhauschen - Bad Oeynhausen

Looking for a German pub we found a good place with a witchy look, a waitress with excellent British English, fast service, huge portions, excellent food, impeccable weissbier and good prices.The only downfall: clothes smell like a pub after leaving the premise... But again, we were looking for a pub!

Opposite the main station, almost hidden in a private alley inconspicuous to the normal human eye & open till the early hours of hocus pocus, it has all the elements of being a witch hide out in the Good Oeynhausen. Small yet very warm. The menu, not in English since the translatium spell was out of sync, quite full of meat. A place like that makes you feel uneasy with that many meat choices and think "Is it good for human consumption or is it human..."! Anyway, I opted for the "last meal of your life" which was very good but certainly not leaving up to its name. The rest of the Schnitzels & beefs on the table seemed more than ok too. The bar corner is interesting and very cozy. Most certainly I shall be visiting the place again in my next trip to rural Germany.

A relatively small restaurant with very friendly staff. They serve huge plates of typical local food, and a wide selection of beers.

Amazing food, amazing meat. Stop by if you are in Bad Oeynhausen. You won´t forget that place. Big variety of schnitzel with many types of sauces, potatoes, vegetables etc...

This restaurant is close to where we stayed (The Mercure, Bad Oeynhausen) so we walked there on the recommendation of the hotel receptionist. I ate there twice, both times the food was outstanding. The decor is slightly witchy (Hexenhaus means witches house) but not overly so. There is a small bar and room for maybe 8 tables seating 2 - 6 so worth making a reservation during busy times or a for 6 or more people. There is an English menu available. There is an outdoor seating are available but I wouldn't use it in the winter.
