there are two restaurants under the same roof, one with 2 stars and one that deserves: the poststuben, a little casual atmosphere and in summer on the beautiful garden terrace. they probably share the kitchen. the dinner was excellent, service appropriate. starter was fabulous:...Venale zunge and kalbschwarz pudding. excellent wine list. pricy, but fair. the location is in hepping, so they need a car or taxi from bad... Very nice dinner with friends. a lot of choice of food and what a wine book, amazing, but they also know the price of the weine. eating was very good, I eat the bark tar ' as starter and as main lambs and ratatouille . we take. the paul schumacher marienthaler despiteenberg 2013, at this price, excellent wine. when we visit the ahr again, we come back.
This place has an excellent kitchen and we recommend booking in advance. very well-trained staff that was helpful at any time. the wine card, rather a book is for wine lovers to read a real joy. we will come back absolutely.
On Sunday, 23rd juli, we had a very nice lunch in this restaurant, only a single fish dish with a good open bottle wine. also the dessert was magnificent.
The menu is the same as a few months ago.Does the chef lack drive or inspiration?We ordered the same starters as previously: a shrimps with scallops dish.The shrimps were,in both startes,dramatically overcooked and tough: any gifted amateur would do rather better. The main course,a venison...stew,contained various pieces from different structure: some had been in thesdtew quite some time,other had been added recently.The different structure doesnot serve the dish well.Who is supervising the dishes that leave the kitchen,one wonders. The service is friendly and swift,the winelist good. My overall impression: too expensive for what it delivers and overrated.The chef seems to be losing touch.
The best traditional german food we ate in Germany. Think lots of spaetzle, delicious roast meats and hearty rich sauces. Would love to go back some day.
