Nevertheless, it was not a rehearsal to get something to eat. the dishes came at the same time, have tasted well and were very plentiful. the service is friendly and he beer garden is quite nice with old trees (kastanien). we like to come back.
It's not fine dinning, but it's a great traditional Stube. It has been a very long time between our visits, but not much has changed. The food is excellent, but very reasonably priced. Try it and you will not be disappointed
We lived in Bad Aibling from and could walk to the Kriechbaumer for lunch. In two weeks in Europe, our dinner here may have been our favorite, and not just for the nostalgia. We had Schweinebraten, which comes with potatoes and dumplings swimming in...juice and a side salad, and the wonderful Maxlrainer Weissbier. Our waitress, the delightful Frau Kriechbaumer, reminded us that the Gasthof is the oldest customer of Maxlrain, which is just two or three kilometers up the road. How old? I asked. Only years. The tab for our feast: under Euros
Kriechbaumer is located on the outskirts in Bad Aibling in a residential area, meaning that it is not really walking distance from the centre you will have to drive or go by bike. Having said that, they have plenty of parking, so that should...not be a problem. Kriechbaumer also has rooms, which I cannot comment on because we didn't stay there. Judging from location, however, this is a convenient stopover when doing a cyclingtour or if you don't necessarily want to stay in Bad Aibling centre. The restaurant has a very nice and relaxed beergarden and ample seating inside. Staff are nice, friendly and very efficient. The menu offers traditional Bavarian favourites like Schweinsbraten pork roast and Kalbsbraten veal roast as well as Kassapatzen Kind of like a Bavarian Version of 'mac and cheese'. We were there on a Monday night with a group of friends and basically ordered all of the above. We were very impressed how quick the kitchen was all dishes very tasty, generous and nicely presented. Good value for money. So yes, I can only recommend and will definitely come back
When I was a baby, Herr Kriechbaumer was a local butcher and would offer me a piece of free wurst on my morning stroll with my mother. Times have changed, and over the years since we've moved back to the states, we always end up...here again when we come back to visit. We have stayed here. The rooms are clean, charming, and solid with a lovely Bavarian breakfast. Now that I have children we usually opt to rent an apartment as Vereinapartments Gallinger, but we always go back to Kriechbaumer's for a couple of meals. Last night, my kids tried knodl with gravy they loved it. There are Bavarian specialties at good prices and huge portions you can take it home if you can't finish it all. The menu is all in German, so you may want to bring Google translate with you. Opt for a Russian when you want something refreshing but not full on beer it's Weissbeer combined with Limo kind of like sprite. I adore this place for its rustic simplicity. There's a small beer garden outside during nice weather, with a playground where children can play as their parents enjoy a local beer
