What Board Boost doesn't like about Wally's Shed:
I went to Wally's Shed with some friends for Saturday breakfast, and the experience would have been enjoyable if it wasn't for the mistreatment of a young assistant. The elderly woman running the cafe seemed overwhelmed and constantly vented her anger at the 13-year-old assistant, JayZee. Good full English breakfast with tea and toast . Service was quick . Wallys cafe may look like it's caught in a time warp but that's the charm of the place .
I and my work mate have visited a few times in last week. First time I was very disappointed with service and no eggs on our best sandwiches. Then we have visited a couple more times and the younger lady serving was great. Visited again today and it was terrible. I ordered an omelette and Ryan said I'll have same with salad. I was charged £7.75 with a cup of tea. Ryan questioned if that was for both innocently as no prices shown. He was then questioned by the lady. Don't be rude to people cooking your food. Ryan then cancelled order asked for money back. She declined to return money and said no eat. In the end we had our money returned and left. This lady needs to learn how to serve people. It was our second visit today and the last
Wally's is an institution for those in the know. A Full English fry up with plenty of tea and toast thrown in. Great way to set you up for the day!
Today I had an excellent beefy cottage pie followed by perfect home-made crumble atop home-grown rhubarb. Jane and Matt were friendly and helpful; they made me feel as welcome as their other customers who all seemed to be old friends.
Wally's Shed is a remarkable survival from the mid twentieth century offering large home-cooked meals in cheerfully shabby clean bright surroundings. We went for a full English breakfast at just a fiver a head. The ingredients were of better quality than the price would suggest....
