Nestled near Glacier National Park, this campground offers a mix of experiences for its guests. While some have appreciated the clean facilities and friendly, informative staff, many others voiced frustration over the lack of presence from the hosts, cold showers, and unkempt restrooms. The close proximity of campsites and noise from the nearby highway detracted from the tranquil camping experience. Additionally, wandering dogs and erratic yard care during the evenings added to the chaos. Although there were moments of enjoyment, especially amidst the stunning Montana landscape, several guests felt that improvements are needed to elevate the overall experience.

Was The Mon at Leaning Tree Cafe a mag?
I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely campground from August 31 to September 1, 2024. It's conveniently located not far from St. Mary and the entrance to the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road. The washrooms and showers appeared brand new and were very clean. There's also a dishwashing sink, a laundromat, and a nice sauna! I will definitely be returning. View all feedback.

What Teena Kurooda dislikes about Leaning Tree Cafe:
Good place to stay if you don’t mind the pack of dogs that are human friendly but not dog friendly. They attacked my dog and refused to do anything about it. Didn’t even offer to pay for my having to wash the blood out of our sheets. They also will jump up on your car wanting a pet but scratching up the paint on your car. View all feedback.

We made reservations for this site online. When we arrived there wasn't any staff on site and no one was in the office building. There was a number on the front door, so we tried calling that but no one answered and the voicemail wasn't even set up. We walked around and talked to other guests staying at the site, and they said no one was here when they arrived either and to just pick an open spot. So we did. No staff showed up for the remainder of the day/evening, so we were unable to get a password for WiFi since no one was here and nothing was posted. We also were never able to check in. The campground itself is tiny. The entire property appears to be less than 1 acre. Camp sits are stacked on top of each other with no privacy. The RV next to us was literally 6 feet away from ours. The facilities are junky/dirty and appear to be poorly maintained. The following morning we carried a bag of trash up to the front and went to place it in a trash bin by the front office, and at that point someone did emerge from the front office and rudely told us not to put our trash there. This was the one and only time we saw and interacted with any staff on site. We promptly left and went to another campground. There are many options for camping and RV's in this area. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place

When booking this campsite, the amenities and proximity to Glacier NP were a huge plus. However, if you plan on coming here to use the amenities, be prepared for a cold shower, inefficient laundry services, and camp hosts that are nowhere to be found for assistance. The restaurant was also only open one day, limited hours, out of a 4 night stay. Check-in was unprofessional and lacked the wholesome Montana welcome. The camp being next to a highway road was noisy and the “neighborhood” dogs were loud but friendly (and we’re dog people . They barked throughout the night with no owner intervention. Additionally the people who live on the property (maybe the hosts? were rather inconsiderate of the campers by doing excessive yard work/landscaping from 6-8pm on a Friday night, and going in and out every night after 10pm with multiple cars/ATVs. Needless to say it was lacking the peaceful, quiet vibe everyone hopes to have while camping.

Staying at leaning tree was THE best experience! Better than I could’ve asked for. My sister and I stayed over Fourth of July weekend and the coordination and ample responses of Tristan helped the process go so smoothly. We stayed for 3 nights and it was extremely close to the east entrance of glacier national park, near the many glacier town area. The campsite was extremely safe and had great amenities. Will definitely be staying again on our next visit to glacier/ norther Montana.

I felt secure during my visit, the restrooms were clean, and the Wi-Fi was sufficiently fast. I highly recommend camping or staying here.
