Reviews summary
Aztec Restaurant, once a local favorite, has received mixed reviews recently. While it boasts a charming ambiance and attentive service, patrons have noted a decline in food quality and portion sizes. Many experienced disappointing meals, with cold or poorly cooked dishes that failed to live up to nostalgia. However, some visitors still rave about the home-cooked feel and variety on the menu, especially for breakfast and comfort food. The standout options, like Biscuits and Gravy, continue to please, making it a place that retains a loyal customer base despite recent inconsistencies. Overall, it's a gamble worth considering.

This local restaurant is fantastic, offering delicious home-cooked meals! The menu has a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were pleased to see that dinner options were still available when we visited. Some of the items on the menu seemed a bit pricey for the portion size, which was a bit of a letdown. The music was a bit too loud for us to easily converse with our group, but overall we had... View all feedback.
What Octopus Cupcake dislikes about Aztec:
We ate at this restaurant two years ago and promised we would never come back. Welllllll, we tried again and honestly it 's still plain bad. The food is all canned, and store bought. This is the only local, hometown restaurant I 've ever been to that doesn 't actually make their food. That 's kinda the whole point of good ol boy places like this, that the food is absolutely killer and homemade. When the waitress fina... View all feedback.

The meal consisted mostly of potatoes with very few vegetables and no meat. My husband and daughter did not receive the bacon they ordered, and my son-in-law's dish was undercooked. The waitress seemed more interested in flirting with other customers than refilling our glasses. Overall, the experience was very disappointing.
When they read reviews to decide to go here or not. they are not missing anything when they decide to happen. safe, the old building is sweet on the outside, the inner is clean and spacious, and the waiting staff are great but they mainly go to a restaurant for eating. eating is absolutely terrible from looking to taste. we decided to stop here for lunch and ordered south of the border
Sausage was burnt. Plate was not appetizing. Won't be back. Better to drive on in to Farmington and go to Dad's Dinner. Same family just ran better.
What a wonderful place to get some good simple food! Me and my family have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years family friendly. Grey service and good homey food
I went to the Aztec Restaurant expecting a good breakfast, but I was disappointed. I ordered the fried hunch steak for $12.99, but instead received a tough, fake meat patty with overcooked hash browns. The waiter said I would receive 3 wurst patties as a side, but I only got 2 and they were cold. The total bill for two people came out to $36. I would not recommend this restaurant as the food was coarse and unappetizing. Look elsewhere for a better dining experience.

Well, apparently the coolers don’t work, it is super hot inside. The biscuit we ordered had green mold all over it, pancake was undercooked, cinnamon roll was over cooked. Generally a horrible experience. Aztec is in dire need of quality restaurants.
This is a nice traditional family diner. Food was good basic fare. Staff was friendly and prompt.
Awsome services. ?. 1st time customer. Had breakfast, cruz to Pagosa and had dinner on way back
Got salad bar with dinner and charged full price and they couldn’t even put more salad out scraping bottom of everything. Food came out cold and this place really sucks. Spent 60 dollars for 3 people, should have went to chili’s

I haven't been to this restaurant in 5 years. The portion sizes have gotten smaller compared to my last visit. The service was good, but the servings were small. I would rate the food a 1, service a 4, and the atmosphere a 3.
Excellent food and service. We dined in for breakfast and the price per person ranged from $10 to $20. The food was rated 4 out of 5, the service a perfect 5, and the atmosphere a 4. We highly recommend trying the Biscuits and Gravy.
Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Recommended dishes: Biscuits and Gravy
Server was sweet young girl who gave good service. However, I had a burger that was undercooked, with limp old lettus on a bun that seemed like the cheap kind you would get at Dollar general. The fries were plain cheap fries from a frozen bag. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2
