Came across the Black Boy by luck and what a great find. Warm welcoming staff managed to squeeze us in despite not having booked. Great steaks and amazing views. Will return very soon. Thank you. View all feedback.
What Andrea Hollister doesn't like about The Black Boy:
Had drinks on a hot evening at this stunning pub. Slow service at the bar, no one came and asked if we wanted any more drinks whilst sitting in the garden. Pub and view 10/10. Staff experience disappointing. View all feedback.
We didn't make a reservation ahead of time and unfortunately, the pub was fully booked. However, the friendly pub manager was able to fit us in and we had fantastic food while the kids had a great time running around. I really enjoy this place.
Located in a remote area, this restaurant is definitely worth the effort to seek out. The food is exceptional and made with locally sourced ingredients.
Great country pub with excellent views across the vale. Greta choice of food and beers. Service with a smile.
Ambience was absolutely fine. Unfortunately, the waitress said she would bring us menus and after 25 minutes I had to ask for one at the bar starters came after a bit of a wait. Whitebait was ok but nachos were from a packet. Then we had to wait for 40 mins for mains. This was ok but very very greasy. A little dispatch as we've always had good experiences here. Staff were young and new so we tried to be patient as they have to to learn the menu and the drinks available. It was busy but we had booked for 7.15 and didn't get mains until 8.45pm. I will go back but not for a long while .
