Experienced our first take-away (delivery) since lockdown and it didn't disappoint. The delivery arrived on schedule and the quality of the food was as good as it had been pre-lockdown. The chicken tender and the prawns succulent ranging over a variety of dishes. All extremely flavoursome which is something that we have come to expect from Miltons and they have yet to fall short of their high standards. The value for... View all feedback.
What Cmonyawns doesn't like about Miltons Tandoori:
We've visited this establishment on and off since it became an Indian restaurant. For us, it's had highs and lows not that many lows to be fair always been I'd say pretty good overall. View all feedback.
Friday night and no one in the place; for good reason. Takeaway order, over charged in apparent error and simply terrible food. Madras and Bhuna both could have been made from a cheap jar and mixed with bisto or gravy granules/water . Rice was a congealed lump of hard glue like substance . Onion Bhajets reheated leftovers saturated in old oil. Nam bread; stale and rubbed in presumably margarine. Unfit for consumption. Interior is filthy and see scores on the doors for hygiene report. A real shame Chalfont St Giles needs a decent place. It needs a complete overhaul or closure, from a deep clean to then simply freshly cooked food. One star is too much, but unable to leave zero.
Our preferred food when travelling is Indian/Asian but this was our first visit to Milton's. We so enjoyed our meal it was all delicious and we will definitely return. So many Indian restaurants in the UK serve food smothered with heavy, fatty gravy but at Milton's both our dishes were prepared the authentic way that we've enjoyed so much in India fragrant, light, flavoursome sauces with just the right level of piquancy. Even the naans were a perfect combination of both body and lightness. The ambience of the restaurant (a gorgeous traditional cottage style) is also a refreshing change from the typical furniture and decor. As with all good food though eat it freshly cooked at the restaurant don't destroy it by getting it delivered on the back of a moped!! Thank you again for such a great meal. Paul Heather
I guess most reviews depend on your personal baseline. Having eaten curries all over Britain this one was all round very poor. The Tandoori mixed grill is normally one of the flagships of an Indian restaurant, however this was very bland, no flavour or colouring and just not great. Also didn't contain a Shish kebab. The two chicken curries were ok, however the chicken was overcooked and wasn't sure whether is was actually cooked in the curry sauce or added later. With a large menu/selection and about 4 people in the restaurant on a Saturday night, I guess one way of managing and maintaining a very the large selection would be to add the meat to the curry sauce after its been ordered. Initial drinks order was for specifically a cold bottle of Cobra beer, which came out warm. I then specifically asked again with my second bottle to be cold. This was forgotten, and when reminded was told it was put in the freezer to make cold. Again this came out warmish when served. The woman was friendly enough, however she seemed at a very slow pace to understand. A small child associated with the restaurant was hanging around as well, which was off putting. This restaurant would struggle if it had any sort of competition.
I visited Milton's with my partner and we had a wonderful meal, everything was delicately cooked and deliciously spiced. The service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We will definitely return.
Fantastic Indian food. Lovely friendly family run restaurant. So lucky to have it in our village. The.Chicken Tikka Madras is to die for!!!
