Very good food, very busy dinner rush but our food came out very fast,well staffed

Food was good, restaurant was clean, staff was busy, but helpful.

Visited the holy grail of NC BBQ yesterday for my 65 birthday. There is no whole hog bbq cooked over wood that I have found that is better than the Skylight Inn BBQ. We toured the cook house to see the pigs cooking. It was awesome. Friendly staff and excellent BBQ and banana pudding was not to be missed. Kid-friendliness: All are welcomed here

The bbq doesn't have any taste just bland tasting to me. I do like the corn bread if it isn't hard.

This is my second review of Skylight Inn. I was craving a specific type of vinegar-based whole hog BBQ, and I chose this restaurant at random due to its location. While it's not available in Tyrrell County, NC, it brought back memories of the flavors I enjoyed in my youth. Currently, I'm 2000 miles away, yet I've had whole hog barbecue delivered from this place twice in the past year. Based on a previous comment, I should mention that if you're planning to dine in, 2 p.m. is too late for BBQ. Any barbecue enthusiast would agree! To the Skylight crew: keep up the excellent work! I chose your restaurant without prior knowledge and was thoroughly impressed. I won’t even look elsewhere. I've only ordered online so far, but if I make it back to the red clay, I will definitely stop by!
