We had arranged to meet up inside and I was nicely greeted and shown to my frie... read more I took lunch here last weekend with a couple of friends on a very busy Saturday. We had arranged to meet up inside and I was nicely greeted and shown to my friends table. The staff were rushed off their feet for sure but EVERYTHING went perfectly. Just enough time to greet my friends and our server took our order straight away spending enough time with us to make us not feel rushed. Wine was delivered within 3 minutes and 5 minutes later we were eating. Our mains were also served with just the right 'delay'.... It was Veal, the house speciality which was superb.I have eaten in some of the best restaurants around the world but Valli's on that day was equal to most of them. Top marks and highly recommended.

And the problem didn't seem to be one wi... read more I'll get straight to the point on this one, while the food was decent enough it quite simply took forever to get to us. And the problem didn't seem to be one with our particular server(s) the problem seemed to be systemic. Our primary server at various points of the meal could be spotted as host (he greeted us), bartender, server, and ice cream scooper. Other servers seemed equally overwhelmed. The first bad sign is that my appetizer (a meat and cheese antipasto plate which was quite good) came with my parent's main courses. Now I know the gentleman got the fact that I ordered the entree/plat menu but somehow my entree/appetizer never got out of the kitchen. My pasta came some time later and while good seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile. Getting a chance to ask for the check took another 20 minutes, again because servers were running everywhere. It just seemed to me the place was understaffed and if this was handled the place could be a very solid casual pizza/pasta place. Also never got a confirmation of the online reservation I made (though it was honored)
