Excellent restaurant for vegetarians_Moi and my boyfriend were on the edge of America and vegetarians.
I went with my husband and son (who is vegan) I called to reserve a table and informed him of vegan requirements he served a wonderful butternut soup...lightly spiced... amazing and then vegetables with fish... the fish was cooked to perfection ... we had a little glass of white wine with our meal... very nice wine which was perfect for our dish our son had the soup as an entree then a vegetarian couscous with quinoa ... wonderful wonderful wonderful ...everyone enjoyed and we shall definitely go back prices were reasonable for a great meal, small scale restaurant so quite nice as it isn 't very noisy... nicely decorated restaurant, soothing Je suis allée avec ma petite famille...mon mari et moi avons mangé une soupe au butternut à l 'entrée avec des légumes et poisson cuit à la perfection.... mon fils a pris la soupe et ensuite un couscous aux légumes avec du quinoa...tout le monde s 'est régalé ... nous retournerons régulièrement car c 'était vraiment de très bonne qualité à des prix très raisonnable ... bravo felicitations ...
Walking the main road to the palace in Avignon would leave you with the impression of its primary cuisine being pizza, ice cream, burgers with a just a scattering of Patisserie’s, Boulangerie, and Brassiere. All looking quite tourist packaged. But this little gem is what you look to find, a small but quality place where the menu is written on a black board based on what they have that day. The service was excellent in a home spun manner and my lunch consisting of a confit of lamb in a stew of mixed vegetables was superb. A small pitcher of a local red served at cellar temperature was the perfect accompaniment. My fellow diners had a grilled white fish other shellfish on a bed of cooked veg. We averaged 20€ person and wished we had more days in Avignon. Very unpretentious and a few blocks off the busy streets. Will come Bach next time I’m in town.
We loved this place! Beautiful, fresh, considered cooking. The chef was helpful, and showed us what the 'Bocal ' was. These delicious little glass pots of cooked vegetables with either chicken, seafood or a lovely ratatouille. My Dad had a great vegetarian lasagne.
We were recommended this restaurant by the Tourist Information Office for serving Gluten Free food, so checked it out before returning later for our evening meal. The waiter/ cook seemed very helpful and understood the fact I can 't eat Wheat, Barley or Rye. However when my meal arrived , noodles had been added and when I asked if they were Gluten free , he said no, I just added them for you . So a gluten free meal with added gluten, a first for me! The house red wine was old and later caused an upset stomach ! The only positive part of this meal was my Husbands Chocolate Fondent for dessert (which I was unable to try). Would we return? Not ever !
