When we got there there was only one ta... read more Even if we were not that hungry we wanted to have a late lunch at Simple Simon based on the reviews seen on Tripadvisor. When we got there there was only one table occupied by two other persons and it stayed this way until we left but anyway it was not a lunch or brunch or dinner hour. My boyfriend had the fried fish in a wrap with sauce, salmon tartar etc and I decided to have only a slice of cake (one with nuts) and we both had coffee. The cake was very good and actually all cakes were looking great, it was very hard to decide. The fish was simple I would say, the salmon tartar made the difference but I wouldn’t say it was worth it. The coffee was good. The negative surprise was when my boyfriend asked for a second fork for me to try the fish and we were told by the waiter that he can not bring another one as the meal was only for one serving. I admit I did not understand the reasoning for this as, like mentioned, the place was almost empty, we were not occupying someone else’s place and anyway we paid more than 30 euros for the lunch. Besides this part of the experience, we would give it another try especially for the cakes.

Charming venue... read more Great choice of homemade cakes and a large selection of teas etc. A group of 9, we were too late for lunch but enjoyed afternoon drinks and cake. Charming venue, friendly, helpful and patient staff. It took us some time to decide which cakes to have as they all looked delicious and with 8 different chosen, I can confirm that they all were. Portions are large, easily enough for 2 to share and the pot of hot chocolate (50 cl) was enough for 3 or 4 cups. Approx 5 euros for a pot of tea, and 8 euros per portion of cake. With such generous portions this was not expensive. Note, the tea room is larger than you might first think, so if you don't want to sit outside, make sure to check that the middle and back sections for seating.
