We ordered a royal couscous. I already ate very good couscous, and well this one was just delicious, very copious with a cooked meat at the point. Also, the seeds and vegetables are at will, but believe me when you ate your plate, you don't put the blanket back. A must in Avignon. PS: special mention for very clean toilets!

Pastilla, chick pea and the briwatte. Friendly service. Close to Palais des Papes. Highly recommend.

The plate also had hummus, a green salad, and something that was good, but I could not identify it. I had some Rhone wine, which was good. Service was good and the staff spoke good English. This is an alternative for the excellent french food in Avignon.

The decor and Moroccan background mus... read more My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening with four friends at this excellent Moroccan Restaurant in the old city of Avignon. The decor and Moroccan background music set the stage for a delicious meal served efficiently by friendly waiters. The six of us ordered several different tagines which were delicious (I loved the lamb and apricot) and served with ample amounts of couscous. The wine list was reasonably priced. We arrived as the restaurant opened at 19h00 and we were the only patrons but the place quickly filled up. It was a great atmosphere for a convivial meal and visiting. If you come later in the evening, reservations would be recommended. We will definitely return to this treasure of a restaurant.

Portions are... read more We had and outstanding meal at Le Riad while staying in Avignon. This was some of the best Moroccan food I’ve had and the service was equally good. Portions are quite large and I’d recommend if you order either cous cous or tagine dishes. The cous cous includes a bowl of cous cous, a vessel of a delicious vegetable stew, and whatever components your ordered (i.e. lamb, chicken, or kofta). My wife and I ordered the lamb tagine (superb) and a kofta cous cous and all together it was just too much food! We rounded out the meal with a light fruit salad and a glass of port. The waitstaff was friendly and patient and the restaurant decor really feels like stepping out of Avignon. I’d recommend Le Riad to anyone visiting the city.
