I have had Apple turnovers my whole life but the one had had at Edgar was absolutely the best! We had chocolate and custard croissants and a berry crumble tart. All were outstanding! I would go here every morning if I lived in Avignon.

They have the a... read more During our four day stay in Avignon, we found Edgar to be the best breakfast choice in Avignon center for freshly baked croissants and brioches. They have the additional distinction of being one of the few places open in Avignon at 7:00 AM (even opening before McDonald's across the street). They also serve coffee so you can make Edgar your one stop shop for breakfast.Sandwiches were also excellent.I much prefer Edgar to its nearby rival, Marie Blacher, The staff was particularly friendly, making an effort to understand my high school level French.
