I spent half a day exploring Avalon, only to return to find that our campsite had been vandalized. Some individuals had stolen our firewood and ransacked our tent. If you're considering staying in the tent cabins, be aware that they are quite old and prone to spider infestations at night. It’s advisable to bring your own tent instead. Additionally, there is a metal storage bin intended to keep animals out, but it has a hole and isn’t insect-proof, so keep that in mind when storing your food. The facilities here are not very well maintained, although the views are fantastic. Make sure to pack wisely!
When we walked up on our campsite it was trashed. Bottles and cans, toilet paper, Mardi Gras beads all over the site. This particular camps site does not have a flat spot for a tent. It has a nice view but it doesn't make up for the long walk to a trashed campsite with no where to put a tent. The campground itself is not impressive. There is a place to fill up water but it shoots out of a 2 pipe. So, impossible to fill up anything. The only restrooms are porta potties. Incredibly disappointed with this campsite. I would not stay here again.
I ordered a campsite, but because of the rain the hostess was gracious and gave me a room in the hostel! It was clean and dry and had all the amenities I needed! Thank you for the room during this inclement weather!Rooms: 5/5
Incredible experience! It does require a bit of a hike to reach, but once you're settled in, the view is breathtaking. Location: 5/5.
