Restaurant Lanterne Rouge - Avallon

Taking advantage of a downstream getaway, I tested this Asian buffet, one noon a week in August. An old warehouse reconditioned, rather dark decor, windows on a single wall, the tables of 2/4 covered jute below. The large tabs will eat in the shade... Note that the layout of the buffet has changed since the photos, the blocks have made a 1/4 turn, one can circulate between them, it is more convenient. The buffet, precisely, is probably not the most varied, but it is garnished and reloaded regularly. The makis are good, fresh, beautifully presented.Nems, samoussas, crudities, well, without being transcendent. Hot preparations, well. A big bravo, it's hot, it's tasty and it's well cooked! For the first time, I ate soft and mellow calamars, nothing to do with the pieces of air room that we are used too often elsewhere...The onion beef, good: meat lams jumped with jumped onions also, and not boiled as we are used too often. etc.):the noodles jumped: they are real, not spaghetti, very good, not fat, tasteful, perfect.The top: the pork sour-soft sauce. I've fallen from the nudes! Taste, lots of taste, peppers, small vegetables, pineapple pieces, excellent sauce. so different etc. I wonder if it would not be home cooking and not "tang brothers" preparations to rehydrate and warm, as we find everywhere in france (see in Europe)! Only shade in the table, and which costs the fifth star, the wok. vegetables and boiling meats not long enough in a not hot enough water, then cooked in a not hot enough wok either, tasteless sauce (I had chosen Thai, normally, it smells Thai basil and chili, there, nothing). And it's not, really, to avoid...On the other hand, for the cold and hot entrances and traditional dishes, this buffet is worth the detour, or even a (short) trip, we're in the very good!While the lunch is charged €10.90, the competition in town, at €2 more, has a lot of worries to be done. :)

Curious, the person's opinion that he was rejected because there was a Chinese car. we returned last week, there were two Chinese tourist cars, and five French tables, and still a lot of room, the restaurant is huge! compared to the last time, in progress on desserts, much more choice

Strange from outside to find a restaurant in an industrial metal hall. good reception and overall friendly staff. the buffet was hearty and always warm, crispy nuts, top frying, nothing to say. we enjoyed the grilled and wok made in front of us. a little loud and yet far from full! The tea offered is a good idea but unfortunately it is not of good quality!

My husband and I are a fan of Asian cuisine, we often have lunch in this restaurant. How dare we say that this restaurant is expensive. The menu will the noon is 10,90 euros wok in addition. It is cheap and excellent, food is very fresh, varied, staff and bosses are adorable and very helpful. I wonder if the bad comments do not come from competition. I highly recommend this establishment, the only risk is to become addicted to the kitchen. We're going there at least once a week
