This restaurant is well off the tourist track and only found by chance. We chose the set menu and enjoyed an excellent, tasty lunch for Euros 12.50 L'Escale is a family-run place that caters mainly at lunchtime for local workers and tradesmen, as shown by the row of white vans in the car park. Workers expect a good meal, served very quickly, at a fair price, and that's what we got. It was so good that we returned for Sunday lunch, more excellent food but served to a quite different crowd of locals. The ex-pats and townies have obviously discovered the place. No frills, no fancy stuff - clean and tidy but don't expect smart silver service. Great value and well worth a visit to taste real French cuisine.

Great restaurant. Very pleasant terrace in the shade and surrounded by trees. Ultra efficient and fast service! The menu of the day is at a more than correct price, the menu of the terroir is perfect for discovering local specialties.
