The name L'Escale lowly translated is Stopover. If you found the restaurant you would want to stop. Just over the Iron bridge on the right is a very pleasant place to eat. They have two outside areas and a very well appointed Dining room.We had a party of around eighteen sat down for lunch, some Plat de Jour some A La Carte. All was served together. There was Garbure, (A thick soup of vegetables and meat) Egg Cocotte... View all feedback.

This restaurant is well off the tourist track and only found by chance. We chose the set menu and enjoyed an excellent, tasty lunch for Euros 12.50. L'Escale is a family-run place that caters mainly at lunchtime for local workers and tradesmen, as shown by the row of white vans in the car park. Workers expect a good meal, served very quickly, at a fair price, and that's what we got. It was so good that we returned for Sunday lunch, more excellent food but served to a quite different crowd of locals. The ex-pats and townies have obviously discovered the place. No frills, no fancy stuff - clean and tidy but don't expect smart silver service. Great value and well worth a visit to taste real French cuisine.

Great restaurant. Very pleasant terrace in the shade and surrounded by trees. Ultra efficient and fast service! The menu of the day is at a more than correct price, the menu of the terroir is perfect for discovering local specialties.

Great discovery, exquisite dishes, a pleasant place, quite affordable prices.
