I always get a decaf mocha as my coffee and it is ok bu... read more I live right near Henks and for me it was just a simple convenient place to go for coffee and breakfast. I always get a decaf mocha as my coffee and it is ok but clearly not to the standard of many people who expect that and even though there is chocolate in a mocha, the taste of the coffee still shines through even though it is decaf. As I said I also get breakfast there and there is a 1 in 3 chance that the breakfast will be nice. If you want a breakfast that hopefully is nice i would recommend the pancakes, but whatever you do, don't get scrambled eggs, sometimes they may be nice but most of the time they are very watery and taste exactly like the just add water scrambled eggs packet mixes you get from the supermarket. Another time I got toast that was really burnt but someone had tried to scrape the burnt bits off rather than do new toast. The service can be good but often I feel like their heads are in the clouds. More then once i have been there with friends and ordered meals with toast and scrambled eggs on toast, when they brought out the bread which we specifically asked for toasted was not toasted and the scrambled eggs were as i said before watery and disgusting. Other times people at my table did not even have their meal cooked it was forgotten, and no apology. It might sound like sour grapes, but I was a long time customer, and I got sick of the poor standard so now I choose to go elsewhere.

The caesar dressing was watery and tasteless and a hot poached egg and still warm sliced chicken was dumped onto the lettuce making part of the salad warm and wilted. The thick shake was mostly crushed ice, not ice cream or milk and was also lacking in any real chocolate flavour. The service was slow and part way through my meal they split my table up for another customer and left me without salt and pepper. Poor food, drinks and service. I'd never go back. Such simple food to get right, I would of been better off spending $10 at chicken treat...

This cafe offers gluten free options. Ordered the risotto gluten free) and asked for the pumpkin seeds to be left out as I had an allergy to pumpkin seeds. Order came and as I was eating, found several pumpkin seeds in food. Staff were not bothered when I took it back. There was no comment. No-one came to apologise and when leaving I spoke to duty manager who said I could have my money back if I wanted. Attitude left a lot to be desired. Certainly put me off side. Staff need to be more diligent when preparing food for people with allergies before they're sued for negligence. Will not return to this place.
