Was Anonym at Shells Diner a mag?
We gave up on the long queues outside of the larger hotels etc. and tried this small eatery for the first time. Are we glad that we did!!The fish tacos were really scrumptious as was the fresh flat head and chips. The salads were well dressed and tasty with a number of ingredients. This isn't ours first time we visit ,we been here several times .But today food was not good, chips over cooked, oily and bad taste . Fish even worse , like it's been defrost severs times with strange gray colour.But beef burger was ok .Price is ok . Very good. The batter was surprisingly good. I'm a bit of a health freak always removing the batter. I couldn't resist eating it all here haha. Very good food
Another great lunch in a perfect spot.. the fish is fresh, chicken snitty burger is huge! We forgot how big the serves are ordered too much again .. staff are friendly look like they enjoy their jobs, singing along!
The staff were amazing and so friendly!!! The food was so fresh and well priced. Well worth the drive from Sydney any day of the week
I ordered the seafood basket at Shells restaurant and it was fantastic. The chips were crispy and perfectly salted, the calamari and prawns had the best breadcrumbs, and the lightly battered fish bites were excellent. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I can't find any faults with Shells. There are some nice seating options at Austinmer beach across the road for enjoying the view while eating, as well as picnic tables at the northern end for relaxing with family and friends.
This restaurant is a wonderful spot to take a break and enjoy delicious food, with friendly service and a charming atmosphere. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive top marks with a rating of 5.
