What User doesn't like about Urban:
valentines. bad menu. had the short ribs (usually short rib) very small portion, which was not seasoned and overcooked. the appetizer was even smaller and ok best. dessert was good. the waiter was inexperienced and said “my pleasure” to everything, instead of bringing his own customer service into play. he knew very little about the menu, the drinks or so. nicer guy who seemed hard to undertrain on all the options in... It's just a hotel bar/restaurant. Stopped in for dinner and found the menu to be very small and not very enticing. If you're here for drinks, maybe worth it, but the prices were pretty inflated. Ended up walking around looking for something worthwhile instead.Brussels sprouts from the reviews were no longer on the menu 8/12/2023, which is a shame, because they were one of two interesting items. Meatballs are $18....no thanks.
My friends and I were looking for a place in the domain to get some drinks before the Austin fc game yesterday and settled on Urban after I looked online at their bourbon selection and cocktails. It's inside the Westin hotel but parking was close which is nice and uncommon in the domain. The restaurant was closed but we sat at the bar, there were a few other fc fans there too which was cool.Cocktails were $16 and they had some interesting options. My fiance got a pink drink called quarry lake that tasted delicious but we mostly stuck with bourbon. They had Eagle rare, stagg jr, and blantons and most pours are around $15 which is not bad. The main reason I wanted to go there was to try george t stagg. It was only $28 which was incredible...I may have had a few pours lol. Both couples ordered the wagyu meatballs and they were fantastic.Bartenders were both friendly and on top of it so it made for a great first impression, we'll probably be back soon.
Loved the buffet! Dogs are allowed on the patio and that was great
We recently stayed at The Westin Austin At The Domain for our daughter's wedding, as did many of the wedding guests. I contacted Mattheu De La Torre in Sales to arrange for a farewell breakfast at the hotel. Matt understood exactly what we needed and put us in touch with Dijana Kapsarev, the Restaurant Manager at Urban. Dijana was amazing! She reached out to us prior to our arrival, and then met with us after we arrived at the hotel to be sure everything would be perfect. She was able to set aside the back half of the restaurant so we would have the best space and privacy to enjoy being with our guests. We treated our guests to the buffet which also included french toast and omelets cooked to order. The food was excellent. In addition, our server Tammy was fantastic! She was able to serve all our guests as they joined us throughout the morning, and offered greetings and super friendly service to all. Dijana went above and beyond by surprising our daughter and son-in-law with a special wedding treat and champagne! We can't express enough how special this morning was and what a perfect send-off it was for all of our out of town guests. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, and the food and service were excellent! We will recommend Urban and the Westin Austin at the Domain to everyone, and definitely will stay and eat here again when we visit.
Service was good and that's the only reason I'm leaving a 3 star. Food is mediocre at best and way over priced for quality. Too many great options around the hotel to go back to this restaurant.
