A no frills Chinese restaurant which serves absolutely delicious food! Huge portion sizes, low prices and amazing taste make it one of the best restaurants in Austin. So many Chinese restaurants skimp on rice which is one of the cheapest foods but at this restaurant you will not have to worry about running out. We always get the dinner portions for lunch so that way there is plenty left over for dinner! Family owned... View all feedback.
We ordered on Christmas Day 2021for a late lunch, early dinner. The only criticism that 'almost ' detoured us from ordering was the restaurant 's name. 'Super China ' sounded like too generic of a name that we thought would reflect on the quality of the food...NOT SO! This restaurant is VERY good! The selection of food items has just about anything you could think of for Chinese cuisine. The owner was very nice, offered conversation when noticing my (206 area code was from Seattle. She was from Seattle (Bellevue too!! For the cost, selection, and quality...Super China hits all the boxes (this is saying a lot as my family is VERY particular to the quality of most Austin cuisine compared to Seattle, or my childhood background of Connecticut . Try 'Super China, You 'll be 'Supper HAPPY!! :
Tucked away in a curiously unassuming location between an adult (licensed) massage parlor and a hookah bar, you will find the quite, exquisite, and DELICIOUS Super China. The name is modest and does not begin to do justice to the cuisine within. An array of familiar favorites and a few surprises (order a shrimp roll, thank me later) for VERY reasonable prices make this a preferred gem alongside a chaotic highway and wasteland. Dine in (with limited seating), order to go, and delivery is also available. Really. Still reading? Stop reading, START ordering, and enjoy a fresh, flavorful feast.
My original order was not delivered to the correct place and I called the store and they told me they would replace it. However I was not going to be back till next week and I was skeptical they would remember. But yay they did they had it all written down and ready after my call without me needing to tell them what it was. Also it was delicious.
This is a straightforward Chinese restaurant that serves incredibly tasty food! With generous portion sizes, affordable prices, and outstanding flavors, it stands out as one of the best spots in Austin. Many Chinese restaurants skimp on rice, which is quite inexpensive, but here you won't have to worry about running out. We always order the dinner portions for lunch to ensure we have plenty left over for dinner. It's family-owned and operated, and the service is quick, friendly, and efficient!
During my recent visit with my family, we ordered the Kung Pao chicken, house fried rice, chicken lo mein, hot and sour soup, and egg rolls. The egg rolls were decent, but everything else was exceptional and surpassed the typical quality found in Austin. I can't quite explain why it's so challenging to find good Chinese food in this city, despite its many restaurants. The vegetables in our dishes were fresh and perfectly cooked, not undercooked as is often the case elsewhere. The hot and sour soup was flavorful and not diluted like at many other places. If you’re seeking a fancy dining experience, this isn't the spot for you. However, if you want high-quality food at a very reasonable price, you must give this place a try! It's hard to believe I've lived in the area for over 10 years and just discovered this gem—I'll definitely be returning!
