it is almost impossible to choose from all amazing meats and sides they have here. in no particular order, the brisket, pulled pork, both types of sausages, they are my favorites from the meat options. so good. in the war of the next-courts I will crown the schaloppen kartoffeln, but the Jicama claw and the green Chile maize are also incredible. oh, burned end, do not forget the burned end. Never forget them. View all feedback.
What John Wood doesn't like about Jim's Smokehouse Bbq:
The brisket is well-made and tasty. That said, I’m assuming the over pricing is due to its proximity to Steiner Ranch. There are several places up and down 620 with incredibly reasonable prices and more traditional barbecue offerings. Best hole in the wall place, we found this great place, while from sea travis, eating was delicious and above all I loved the wrench lime cake with earthberry sauce. they also have a good outside space to play.
Exceptional bbq and the sweetest cook / host. must try: oma bananencremekuchen!
Absolutely phenomenal brisket, boron, jicama and banana cream cake. fantastic service on everything.
I first had Jim's Smokehouse a year and a half ago, the first time I visited Austin. I was blown away by the food and service of this place the first go around and often dreamt about going back when I visit Austin again. Well, I just moved here and made it to Jim's as quickly as I could. We had the Brisket Chili which was loaded with the smokiest, juiciest brisket I have ever had (far better than Salt Lick, and Terry Black's). I had the B-RAD Bomber (special of the day) which consisted of Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, Pulled Pork, Melted Pepper Jack Cheese, topped with Pico De Gallo, in between a fresh, perfectly toasted bun. Can't beat this place.
