This must be one of the underestimated BBQ spots in the city. It was close to the hotel so I had the opportunity to eat here twice this week and both times the cattle ribs and brisket were excellent. Taste Iron Works was also a great value. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Iron Works Barbecue:
Service and people are excellent, meat, not so much. I tried the sampler of Brisket, sausage and beef. Brisket was delicate and juicy but absolutely no taste, no smoke ring or taste. Had no bark at all. I wonder if this would have ever seen the inside of a smoker. Had to do it in the sauce and even then not finished. Sausage was good, but nothing unusual. Not too tasteful. The beef was dry and hard. The plastic fork... View all feedback.
The barbeque here must be one of the best in Austin, if not the best! Be it the beef ribs or sliced beef and a side order of baked potatoes. Ah Texas bbq at it best!! Don’t miss this one. Finger lickin good!!
If you are looking for the Kack-style restaurant that serves great food you found it. The BBQ is incredibly plentiful and tasteful and the service was fast. I come from NC, so I'm already hesitant of other BBQ, but I enjoyed Iron Works and would probably go back when I'm ever in the area. The dining area is very hot and stuffy, so plan for it, especially summer time.
Great ribs and smoked Turkey on this grill joint. 100 years old historic building, No AC and smells just like good old Post Oak smoke. Ribbons were smokey and juicy, and their sauce was perfect. Will definitely return when I'm back in ATX.
Great experience. Before I flew home, I wanted to try a Texas BBQ in Austin. After visiting three places(closed), I found a small jewel called Iron Works BBQ. When I entered, I didn't know how their system worked, so I took a second or two to browse then BAM, I hear a loud welcome from Louis say hello, welcome to Iron Works BBQ! How can we help you? Man, what a way to welcome a customer! I went and talked to him and found out he wasn't even the manager. Wow! Of course, her food was excellent, and the view of the place was beautiful. Louis cordial greeting made me appreciate what made a great first impression of the place for me. And yes, if I'm back in Austin, I'm sure I'm back.
Pretty good BBQ, might need to try them for lunch. The brisket was a little tough, they had ran out that afternoon and were trying to play some catch up. Staff was nice about it and you can tell we’re doing their best. The beef and pork ribs were really good. You can’t rush brisket! But they get a pass on this one being tough.
