What User doesn't like about Hyde Park Grill South:
So we came here after we saw a movie next door. The place was quite empty so we thought the food was hot, fresh and good. No, not at all. The greens were crispy! We got the award-winning Pommes and I'm not sure what award they won in the past, but they were garbage. Cold and tasteful old. The shrimps and grits and were not good either. We visited the first time because of their famous french fries. Tried the Ruben and the fried avocados both were great. This time we got the fried avocados and tried the horseshoe. We actually shared the entree both times, and they plated it on separate plates for us. Great food and service. This place is definitely on our list of favorites!!
Food was great. The tortilla chips are the best in Austin! Homemade and just right! The queso was goid, too. Cream of mushroom soup was delicious. And the server, Rick, was excellent!
Wonderful meal tonight while in town for a meeting tomorrow. I had the pan roasted chicken, sweet potato with salty molasses butter, and steamed green beans. Yum!
Amazing food, fast service, the waitress was amazing and friendly. It was my first time eating there I will definitely be back!
Wonderful wait staff. Excellent comfort food. Save room for dessert! The chocolate cake is something to experience.
