I've driven past this place for MANY MANY years, decided to order breakfast tacos for Bosses Day this year! BEST DECISION EVER! They separated all of the different tacos so we didn't have to open each one up, the tortillas both corn and flour were homemade, and delicious! the salsas and the Pico de Gallo were great! And everyone I spoke with was so sweet and helpful!! New place for breakfast!! View all feedback.
What Barbara Hermiston doesn't like about El Secreto De Abuela #1:
Looks can be deceiving! The Limeade was the only good thing about this place. Service was mediocre, only 3 tables and they brought us the wrong order and tried to make us eat someone elses food. Everything was dry, lack of flavor and veggies were still halfway frozen. The rice was dry and kinda crunchy. The steak and tilapia fish were both dry and lacked flavor, steak was chewy. You could still taste the uncooked masa... View all feedback.

You could still taste the uncooked masa in the corn tortillas. I've tasted canned beans that were better. The enchiladas were bland and not well made. I might give them another try but TBH I prolly won't go back here. Waste of $40.
This food is absolutely delicious. Usually a restaurant will make a thing good and everything else is missing, but el secreto de abuela makes everything so good! the red salsa is perfect. not too oily, not too clumpy or watered. each taste in it complicated each other. the rice is tasteful, and the camarons a la diabla plate that I got was great. I will come back and bring friends and family here when they visit me in austin.
Good food. Good prices. Daily special is always a good choice
Every breakfast plate has potatoes. So if you can't eat potatoes for some reason, like me.... beware. The egg was on the salty side, but was really good with the cactus. You will need to ask for refills on drinks unless it's coffee. They don't offer. Appreciate how they offered corn or flour tortilla, giving a choice. It was a very nice atmosphere for my high school friend and I to have our 38th reunion visit. The restaurant owners and employees were very patient with us. My friend Jack from work suggested this place. I would say he has good taste. The parking lot leaves a lot to be desired. Trucks parked there blocked my view from pulling out and I almost had a horrible accident when leaving. To bad they don't have better parking spaces. Would be nice if the business next door would allow their customers to park there.
