I ordered the beef curry shown in the photo below, hoping the restaurant had improved its portion sizes, but this has been my worst experience so far. The beef curry was mostly fat with very little actual meat. The consistency and quality of the dishes are lacking. While this restaurant has potential, it urgently needs to improve its food quality and overall customer experience. To the restaurant: please don’t serve dishes that are predominantly fat and consider that acceptable. Quality and consistency must be prioritized! Customer satisfaction is essential to keep us coming back, but after today, I won’t return. Despite giving this place multiple chances, I’ve reached my limit and ended up throwing away the entire meal. I also mentioned portion sizes in my previous Google review. The beef curry was disappointing — mostly fat instead of meat — and the $2 rice portion was so small it wasn’t even worth $0.50.
I ordered delivery and the food arrived hot. The portions were slightly smaller than I expected. The Pad Thai was flavorful, but the Pad See Ew was a bit too salty for my taste. I hope for a better experience next time.
I ordered from Charoen Express via DoorDash and was impressed by the fast delivery and the garlic chicken, which stood out as the highlight. The rest of the menu items—pad Thai, crab Rangoons, mango sticky rice, and crab fried rice—were average. The sticky rice was a bit gummy, the crab fried rice lacked some flavor, and the pad Thai was okay but slightly too sweet for my preference. As someone half Thai who has lived in Thailand, my expectations are quite high. While this wasn’t my favorite meal, I would still consider ordering from Charoen Express again. Portion sizes were generous across the menu except for the garlic chicken.
The wings at Charoen Express are outstanding! They remain crispy for a long time, and every dish is packed with flavor. The servings are hearty, and everything is cooked flawlessly. Don’t miss the mango sticky rice—it strikes the perfect balance and isn’t overly sweet!
