Waiting for this place to reopen!!!! Food was so amazing, me and my boyfriend would drive an hour and a half almost every month to come eat here. Jay was such an amazing waiter; very attentive to our needs, and remembered us and our order every time. View all feedback.
What Suz D doesn't like about Bombay Bistro South Lamar:
Honest review here. Makes me wonder about their other reviews, which are way over rated for this place. We recently dined here, because of the reviews, and we were not impressed. We have eaten Indian Food in many major cities in the US as well as Europe. We love Indian Food so we eat it often. The service was poor, the atmosphere was ok. The chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala wasvery dry and rubbery. The garlic naan... View all feedback.
Absolutely great food. Beef Vindaloo is delicious. The Chili Chicken is outstanding. The Lahsuni Paneer Tikka might be the best vegetarian dish in the city. You can't go wrong at Bombay Bistro. Service is great. To go orders are always accurate.
Love the vada pav and bombay sandwich here!We usually do a takeout instead of dining in though.
Wonderful service and food! Absolutely love the vegetable pakoras with the mint chutney. For entrees, the chicken tikka masala is a classic and some of the best tikka I’ve experienced in Austin and the paneer saag is another classic I absolutely love! I’m not usually into paneer, but Bombay Bistro has the best I’ve ever tried. I have dietary restrictions (celiac/gluten-free) and the menu is very accommodating. Will be back soon!Dietary restrictions: Lists the gluten free/vegan/vegetarian items on the menu!
5 stars AMAZING, I got a yellow curry and samosas. My friend got the Tikka masala.INCREDIBLE food, good atmosphere.Thank you for playing authentic music. We'll be back!
Went on my bday and it was a big mistake. The kitchen was visible and it was not clean. No one bothered to come and take the order. I had to call them after 10 min.Ordered a tandoori platter/chicken biryani/garlic naan- none of the items were good. The chicken was not cooked properly and the biryani had no proper masala. Overall the restaurant doesn't seem hygienic.Update: Response to the below questionThe table was not wiped off properly, there was a big trash can behind the swing door in the kitchen and they were cleaning without gloves. The same people were working inside the kitchen.I do have experience with open kitchens but they were well-maintained.Also, as soon as we entered we were waiting for 5 min to be seated. Only 3-4 tables were occupied. The chicken was hard, shrimp was half-cooked.Let me know if you need more details.
