What Alize Dare doesn't like about Barile Coastal Italian Cuisine:
Salmon was over cooked, over salted and had some kind of pink sauce that was really unappetizing. Potatoes and carrots were swimming in oil. The mozzarella on the chefs board was really good. Tabouli was fresh and very tasty. View all feedback.
Great!!! Food, staff cocktails! Thank you. I love you can book a table here before a show at the Zach Scott Theater and enjoy a delicious meal. The ducks, appetizers and cocktails were phenomenal! Thanks to a great waitress and bartender. Cheers!
I arrived a half hour early because traffic was uncharacteristically free flowing. They seated me immediately! The food reminded me of my Italian vacation, it was so very good!
We had a large party and they really squeezed us in together even though there were plenty of open tables surrounding us. That was frustrating. However, the atmosphere is nice and the food was really excellent. The salmon, specifically, was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’d definitely go back!
We decided to try this new Italian restaurant before going to the Zach Theater. I was disappointed with some of our dishes. The simple classic Caesar salad was severely lacking. The dressing was bottled caesar and the lettuce was dry as if removed from a packaged bag of lettuce. I ordered the flatbread Barile that has prosciutto, fig, goat cheese, arugula and balsamic glaze. My favorite combination of flavors. Unfortunately the menu was misleading, it was not served with prosciutto. I realized they had cut into dime size pieces of thinly sliced ham. How did I know ?the color light pink flesh color of boiled ham and the fat accompanying the pieces plus the lack of saltiness of cured prosciutto. Very disappointing. When I mentioned this to our waiter he looked at me and it was evident he didn't understand the nor care by his lack of a response. My companions said their dishes tasted fine, nothing special or outstanding in taste Tabbouleh salad and baked salmon. overpriced for what was served. Will return one more time to give it a chance.
I was disappointed in the menu choices and in the quality of my food. It was good, but nothing special that I couldn't prepare myself at home. I use to love the Flour and Vine menu and was disappointed to know it had closed. I usually go here when I attend theater at the Zach, so I will give it one more try before I give up.
