**Diverse Experiences at BackDraft Pizza**
BackDraft Pizza offers a mixed bag of experiences for its patrons. Some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with unevenly cooked pizzas, lack of toppings, and the use of canned whipped cream on desserts. Others appreciate the bustling atmosphere and quality of certain menu items, particularly the pepperoni rolls, praised for their flavorful sauce. While the location near Celis Brewery enhances the dining experience, concerns about food consistency and customer service linger. Many customers are hopeful for improvements, with a few promisingly returning for their vibrant outdoor setting and fresh flavors. Overall, the restaurant’s charm is evident, though its execution may need refinement.
Was Thongsamuth Noymany at Backdraft Pizzeria a mag?
I enjoyed BackDraft Pizza while spending time at Celis. I ordered the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza along with some garlic knots. The atmosphere was perfect for relaxing with a pint and a slice. I shared my pizza with two other friends. View all feedback.
What Tamara H dislikes about Backdraft Pizzeria:
I drove all the way here from work during my lunch hour, only to find an empty parking lot. When I called, no one answered the phone either. It would really help if you could take just five minutes to update your Google listing so that others don't waste their time driving to a closed restaurant while hungry. I was really looking forward to trying this place since I'm a pizza fan, but there are plenty of other pizza... View all feedback.

Pizza and Wings were awesome. QR code makes for easy ordering. Located outside of Celis
I didn’t feel I got my money's worth for the $47 I spent. The pizza toppings were tasty, but there was barely any cheese on it. When my friend requested extra cheese, they received just a light sprinkle. The wings didn't have much flavor either. However, with a few minor improvements, this place could easily earn a 5-star rating. Additionally, if you're going to take 40 minutes to prepare food, it needs to be exceptional.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, and the location near Celis Brewery is perfect. I attended an event hosted by the brewery, and the pizza paired perfectly with the drinks. Highly recommend!

I also tried the Liège waffle topped with Nutella, strawberries, and whipped cream. While the waffle was a bit on the hard side, it was still edible. Unfortunately, they used canned whipped cream, which tends to break down quickly; by the time my order arrived, it was basically just a tub of white liquid. I occasionally enjoy pizza from places like Pizza Hut and Domino's, so I’m no stranger to subpar pizza, but I won’t be returning here. The restaurant does deserve credit for wrapping the waffle in foil on three sides to keep it warm, and I didn’t deduct a star for the pizza being cold, as that could have been an issue with the delivery. However, the clear picture of the pizza I received is far from what their site shows it should look like, which has far more toppings than I received on the entire pizza.
Ordered online as per the instructions on their voicemail and when I arrived to pick up, there was a handwritten sign outside their truck that said they had no basil. I wish they had mentioned this on the website because one of the pizzas I ordered wasthe Twisted Rita aka margherita so it was basically just a tomato and cheese pizza. Overall, the cheese sauce of the Ritawere good. I also ordered Shrooms and flavor was also good. But the crust and dough were so? dry and hard. I also gotbreadsticks homemade red sauce. When I got home, I found out they forgot the red sauce. Maybe I should?ve checked that theygave me everything before I drove off? Idk. I¯ (?) ¯ Anyway, I tried a breadstick and it was the same as the crust dry andhard. Just didn?t feel like they cared at all about the food they made and that I paid $40 for. This was my first time and willprobably not be going back.
I was quite let down by the pie I had tonight. It was not cooked evenly, and despite arriving just five minutes after receiving the text that it was ready, it was only lukewarm by the time I got to my car to take a bite. I also paid for extra cheese, but I could barely find any. I ultimately stopped eating it halfway through. This place used to be an excellent pizza spot, especially after a night out at the bar near the pizza truck, but now it’s not even a good option for late-night cravings; it just leaves you wanting something better.
Update! I recently tried the backdraft pizza, and the sausage topping was quite good. I decided to add jalapeños, which is my favorite pairing with pepperoni. Keep in mind that you can only place orders online and not directly at the food truck. Generally, your order will be ready in about 20 to 30 minutes, but it may take longer during peak hours. The pizza sizes are reasonably priced. I always opt for pepperoni, and it certainly met my expectations. The crust was thin and crispy, making it easy to pick up a slice without needing to fold it like you would with New York-style pizza. They also offer complimentary packets of Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, which are my preferred toppings. Besides pizza, they serve pizza rolls and salads. However, I've noticed some inconsistency in service, as they occasionally forget the add-ons, which do incur an extra charge.

It would really help if you could take just five minutes to update your Google listing so that others don't waste their time driving to a closed restaurant while hungry. I was really looking forward to trying this place since I'm a pizza fan, but there are plenty of other pizza spots in Austin that are actually open. **UPDATE:** The pizza and cheese breadsticks are amazing! They honored their commitment and gave me a pizza on the house. I would highly recommend checking it out—don't miss the "Twisted Rita." It's incredibly flavorful, and the tomatoes they use are probably the best I've ever tasted!
