Was Adam Jones at Austin Java a mag?
The service here is absolutely excellent. The food came out incredibly fast. I really enjoyed the breakfast quesadilla, and the tacos were fantastic as well. The French toast was a hit with the kids, and you definitely have to try the fresh-squeezed orange juice. I love this place! View all feedback.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff informed us that they couldn't take reservations, which left me feeling a bit frustrated. They were rather impolite about it, making me feel as though I had done something wrong. I simply acknowledged their response and accepted the situation. They mentioned they would accommodate us this time, but we still had to wait about 10 minutes for another table. On a positive note, our waiter was fantastic, and the food was as delicious as always. I just wish they hadn't embarrassed me for using the app, especially since they are listed here. Unfortunately, despite being our go-to family-friendly spot in South Austin, I'm not sure we'll be returning because of the rude treatment. It's disappointing.
This is my second time using OpenTable for AJ, and both times the staff seemed confused by our reservation. If they don't utilize it, perhaps they should consider disabling their account. However, we did have the opportunity to try the new Chorrono for free, and the staff was great.
The waitress at our table was excellent, and the food was very good. I enjoy supporting local restaurants. However, the female bartender at the bar was rude and unhelpful when we mentioned that we were having trouble with the Wi-Fi password. She claimed it was working on her phone but never bothered to check or assist us. If you need Wi-Fi, I wouldn't recommend going there.
Service was very attentive to the 1st 2/3 of our meal, then for a good time disappeared. great renovation of the room, as we have visited the bakehouse for many years. excites to have this great menu, bar and coffee shop in our sona neighbourhood!
When we were there, they said they didn't know how to make a reservation and I couldn't have done it because they didn't take reservations. They were pretty rude about it and made me feel like I did something wrong. I just said, "ok, understood. I apologize.” They said they would honor it once, but we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Besides, our waiter was great and the food was delicious as always. I wish they hadn't embarrassed me to use this app if they were listed here. Nevertheless, we do not think we will come back what crappy is because this is quick to go to our favorite South Austin family friendly regular place. I wish they weren't so rude.
At this neighborhood gem, diners can expect attentive service and delicious food, making it a worthwhile visit for supporting local establishments. However, experiences can be mixed, particularly regarding staff interactions. While many patrons appreciate the friendly waitstaff, incidents of rudeness—especially from the bar staff regarding Wi-Fi issues—tarnish the experience. Additionally, confusion around reservations may frustrate guests. Despite these service shortcomings, the inviting ambiance and a revamped space continue to attract loyal visitors. Overall, while the food remains a highlight, consistent attention to customer experience could elevate this restaurant even further.

Waffles. If you're unsure about what to order, definitely go for the waffles. They have a delightful yeasty buttermilk flavor that reminds you of homemade batter left to rise overnight. Everything on the menu looked appealing and tasted fantastic. However, I found the brewed coffee to be a bit weaker than my preference, so I'll be sticking to nitro or espresso instead.
Everything was delicious! We got the maple cinnamon oat latte, a drip coffee, the salmon Benedict and the traditional breakfast with the waffle, which was the BEST upgrade ever! The waffle is huge and comes with cinnamon butter. So. Good. Def would recommend to anyone looking for a yummy breakfast/brunch spot!
This is a fantastic local coffee chain with incredibly helpful staff, excellent coffee, and a robust breakfast and brunch menu. They are also recognized for their support of local organizations and charities, including the Central Texas Food Bank. A genuine local business!
