We met some family there for breakfast. Everything was fresh and was an enjoyable time. I didn't find the value in the food alone. It was more about the atmosphere really. For a family of 3. Coffee, soda and orange juice. A cinnamon role. Was about $80. So keep that in mind. The food was good.overall pleasant experience. View all feedback.
What Tyler De Luca doesn't like about 1886 Café Bakery:
The staff was not very friendly, and the brunch for two was excessively pricey, especially after having to wait in a long line to place our order. I tried the bagel and lox, but the salmon was not great. Overall, it wasn’t worth the $70 experience for two. View all feedback.
Superb food but very pricey We had steak and eggs, the croissant Benedict and two coffees. Steak is the size of a deck of cards. Beautifully cooked but small. Rainbow potatoes were awesome! So so delicious. Be prepared for the sticker shock as we paid 60+ for two meals and two coffees 5 coffees by the way, may as well get a latte for the same price! Also be aware that an 18% gratuity is included already this is not a sit down service though there are a couple servers ready to deliver your food and clear the plates.
I ordered an orange juice and avocado toast for my brunch with family and the food was served hot thankfully. We sat by the windows which was nice and we could see the bakery car from our table which was a nice bonus. The Croissants are big, beautiful, and crispy. Absolutely delicious and worth it! My avocado toast? It was okay a little odd with the pumpkin seeds. The feta cheese and side salad was a nice touch. I wouldn’t say it was $17 worthy though.
It was alright. I feel like it 's more hype than anything. The food was good, but just not my style and not something I would crave to eat or being dying to come back for. The food was definitely fresh though, nice and warm, had flavor. But again, just not my style and that 's just cause of personal preference. But if this is your style then definitely give it a shot. I also thought the TX waffle was cute af. Like that 's a pretty neat idea especially when they say 'everything is bigger in TX ', well that waffle was massive. I couldn 't eat the whole thing after my main breakfast. Lol. I also bought some round rock orange cinnamon honey while I was here. Tastes good! Wish I would 've bought some more to bring home.
Cute place, historical building! When you walk in you feel like you're walking back in time. There is a lot of areas to sit. A few tables are outside. There was a long line when we went but we got our food very fast once we sat down. The cold brew coffee was great along with the breakfast we ordered. I'd recommend trying to save a table if you want to eat outside
