It was clearly not cleaned: there were old socks under the... read more Very bad experience at Gîte l’Aurienchon. Upon arrival, we found the house in an unacceptable state. It was clearly not cleaned: there were old socks under the bed and dirt present in all rooms. The bathrooms were very outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, the house felt neglected and unhygienic. There were also serious issues: the fire door did not work, the shower was loose and almost falling off the wall, and one of the bedrooms was unusable due to mold caused by moisture problems. There were also visible damp spots in the living room. One of our couples even had to leave their room because the mold smell was unbearable. The owners initially offered to refund €578, but ultimately did not follow through on this promise. Instead, they started accusing us of causing damage and not leaving the house clean, which is completely untrue. In short: a very disappointing experience. We strongly do not recommend this accommodation and will never return.
