After a visit to Augustusburg Castle a few kilometres south of Chemnitz, we were looking for a restaurant in the same name. Unfortunately, the restaurant that we are looking for had closed so that we had a look at the phone where we would find the next well-rated. That was a perfect hit, even though we didn't accept it! The somewhat hidden place in a small garden... uh, datschenanlage, but well-visited place makes the usual impression of a small garden resort outside and also the facility is very simple and convenient, somewhat old-fashioned. We quickly found a table in a quiet corner, where the dog could be undisturbed and others could not be disturbing. So right we didn't like to believe in the first impression that you can eat here excellently, but when we were handed over by the friendly service the versatile map, which promised lucullic delights, we couldn't decide so promisingly the offered foods While my Gudschder chose tongue with potatoes and mixed vegetables, I was after fish. The salmon fillet with mangosauce and wild rice reads the water in my mouth when reading. So if that was only halfway as tasty as the court sounded. I reckoned with the usual frozen salmon cuts, as I get them to buy at the discounter, but what I served there was exceeded my expectations completely! The fruity, silky mangosauce went in a perfect symbiosis with rice and salmon, which, by the way, perfectly prepared no TK cuts, but freshly cut from the fillet. The whole was appetizing with grapes, currants, pineapple and mango garnished too bad to eat, but even more pity to let down. We hadn't eaten so delicious for a long time, because the tongue was very tasty and I could taste a little bit, even if I personally prefer a Madeira sauce. A very ambitious cook is at work here! In addition, the portions were very plentiful and so we were very enjoyable until no more crumb was left. Since the service was very friendly and attentive and also brought the dog unquestioned a bowl of goose wine, the prices in the middle price segment moved around 10 12 € per dish and also the price performance ratio is correct, I can only recommend the restaurant. It is also a good alternative to the usual quite expensive tourist gastronomy at Schloss Augustusburg. You can park well on the edge of the through road. There is also a private parking lot.
